years old. Calvin turned 15, Feb. 28th. (finally getting a blog posted!)
We can hardly believe how fast the time has flown by! Calvin chose to have his birthday dinner at Suzy Wong’s House of Yum. If you’ve never
been, we highly recommend it! It is very YUM!
We enjoyed having Grandma (my Mom from Phx.) visiting with us over Calvin’s birthday. Dessert was a baskin robins mint chocolate chip ice-cream cake. Also very, Yum!
Calvin didn’t waste anytime applying for his driver’s permit. Dad picked him up a little early from school on the 28th and Calvin drove home from the test! Passed with flying colors. And is doing to great job behind the wheel. Though I must admit it’s taking me longer to get used to this than I thought it would!
Here are a couple photos (taken with a point and shoot camera with a terrible flash mode) to share of this birthday celebration.

Thanks for stopping by the blog…

to stare, but there are somethings you see you need to take a good long look to figure out!
I just had to share… This morning, while I was at a traffic light on the ramp off the Interstate, after I took Calvin to school,
I casually look over at the car to my left at the occupant sitting in the passenger seat and thought is that a dog? Looked away and
quickly looked back with more intent. It was a dog. Dressed in a SUIT with a TIE! I kid you not! And he was very serious too, dignified really.
Never moved a mucle, just sat there looking straight ahead. No gawking out the window, fidgeting around for this dog… A real no nonsence pooch…
Once I got my head around the reality that it truly had a nice suit and tie on I had myself a good laugh. But the real laughing started once I shared with my sister, who I
quickly called. We came to the conclusion he was probably on his way to a job interview!
It’s things like this that makes life so interesting… Isn’t it?!
Everyday has it suprises and joy!
CHEERS!
I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since the Brianna Graham workshop I attended right here in Nashville. And I haven’t shared a single photo! This workshop was an event I didn’t know if I’d ever be able to attend. But when I saw she was coming here I pleaded with my Sweetheart for this opportunity and booked it in Dec. last year! So when Sept. FINALLY came around I was thrilled! Brianna is an amazingly talented, gifted, generous and very successful photographer. Then I found out that the Nashville and Chicago workshops were the LAST she was holding, I was so thankful I made the investment for my business and photography.
Here are 3 to share. I have many more I plan to share when I can get back to them.

We were provided a group of models to shoot during the workshop. They brought several outfits and we took turns working with them one on one. This beautiful young lady is on her way to New York soon to start her modeling
career! Truly a natural and pleasure to photograph.

I love the striking differences between these two gorgeous models eye and hair color.

I love the conversacions I get into with young children while I am photographing them. This darling little girl was very concerned with littering and pollution! Adorable.
I hope to share more of the models from this workshop I had the opportunity to photograph, soon. I was able to call one of my favorite guys “Gavin” to be one of our models and it was so fun to see him again and
shoot him too!

my best friend.

My younger sister, only sister, only sibling, Dee Dee. My life-long friend.

We took time out during Jesse’s senior session to get a few shots of her and each other. I’m glad we did. I think Mom and Dad will be glad we did too.

We may have gotten a few serious shots, but this is how we usually need up. In hysterical laugherter! This is when our husbands and children usually run away. It’s just the best! All the years and stories, (I’ll mention my dinosaur models I came home to find all smashed up by little sister in a fit of anger because I wouldn’t let her tag along with me!) and joys and hardships, we have had each other to share and see each other through. My sister is truly one of life’s best blessings!

I’ll end this blog post with the photo of Dee Dee and son, Jesse. Poor Jesse, he will NEVER forget HIS senior portraits! I told Dee Dee, who was my reflector holding assistant, that I’d have to let her GO after working with me. She kept asking my client what his nationality was. We laughed about this through this part of his session and for the rest of the day! Actually, just thinking about it makes me still laugh. Priceless! That’s it.
Thanks for dropping in.. Keep laughing!
of my perennial garden…This past Saturday, while Calvin was attending a Troop event all day, I made my way to JVI (plant nursery) in Donelson. I was so fortunate that Erin took the time to help me pick a variety of plants, including different foliage textures, colors, heights, you name it she put it altogether. And to top it all off, she even wrote it all down for me, because there would be no way I’d remember the exact placement she arranged!

here is Ty inspecting all the plants. his question was, “what’s up with the catnip!”

so here are my beds… I wanted this photo to depict the very real and sad state they are in. Jim was kind enough to down-size the original beds to a more manageable space for me to work with and replaced the mostly clay soil with much better soil, umm 2 years ago… so I am way over due to make this space FABLOUS!

here is the sketch Erin put together… I am returning to JVI next week to pick up a few more choices we made that were not in the nursery yet…

Yes, they are in the garage until after the Easter weekend… By then the weather should be warm enough for my babies… I can’t tell you how much joy I get from this table of plants! It’s going to be a great growing season…. I’m sure I’ll blog some updates..
I can’t believe it’s almost been 2 weeks since our beach trip to FL. and I haven’t blog any photos yet… Hopefully after Easter I’ll get some processed and blogged….
I will be away from my email the rest of the week, returning Monday…
Happy Easter to all…
