As a PPA member I have access to unlimited resources to improve my art as a portrait photographer, to benefit my clients and my business. I want to continue to learn and apply what I’ve learned to better my work and PPA gives me the tools to do so.  I think this video clip is a great example of the dedication and passion I want to bring to my clients.

Then I thought about how cold it was and Little Guy doesn’t have a shirt on and it kind of bothered me! Weird I know… But just to clarify, I do not require any photos of small children in the cold without the proper clothing!

This is the family photo we shot last night at the studio. And these are my toughest “clients”, my guys! We set up the tripod every year, well several times during the year, but every time I get the same hassles from them. Last night I wasn’t in the mood to argue and only took 8 frames!

Keeping with my “invest” in family portraits, I am working towards having our portrait’s taken this summer from a gifted professional photographer… Will share more about this when I’ve gotten our session nailed down!

The engaged couple are huge Titan’s fans and season pass holders SO naturally I went to the Admission office to speak with the Manager to ask if we could get premission to shoot

in the stadium! And as you can see, we got the OK! What fun, LP Field to ourselves…

Then we hit downtown and it was all “LOVE ON BROADWAY”…

I have been blessed to have been able to capture memories of THEM. The session was truly a celebration of the beginning of what I can see as a blessed and joyful life together as

I hooked up with Casey and Ken through a Tweet sent out in my behalf from Jerrod , who owns Ugly Mugs Coffee and Tea Cafe, that I was looking for a band to play at my Grand Opening.

They are just amazing and set the perfect mood for the night. We agreed to barter services and held an Urban session… Here are some I wanted to share.

It’s pretty awesome when a client brings a piano to a photo session! When we arrived at this location I explained that I didn’t find anyone to ask

permission to shoot there and that if anyone comes we may be asked to leave. I didn’t feel it would be a problem, but you never now. (I don’t normally shoot at locations

without permission) We got the piano set-up in position and I hadn’t taken more than 3 shots when I heard a noise and turned around to see this gentalman driving in on a forklift.

I thought well, “That’s it, we are going to be asked to leave.” But to our surprise and amazment we weren’t asked to leave and actually got help moving the piano to 2 different spots to shoot!

It has been amazing to watch and photograph Adrienne, who we first meet while she and Calvin were in Kindergarten, become this beautiful young lady.

It is apparent how fast time is flying by with this photograph of Paige. It seems to me that over night she has changed from the little girl we first meet to this

wonderful young lady as well!

All my studio photos were taken with my BIG BEAUTIFUL LIGHT, that I LOVE. This giant is a 7ft octagon. This was the light set up recommended and used by Brianna Graham at her workshop I attended in Sept. I wasn’t sure how I would like working with a light but I must say I just love it! I am putting together some “Studio Saturday” sessions after the new year so be sure to check back for all the info!
