behind the scene….

This past weekend my rugged guys were off with the Scout troop for the Winter camp… And yes, they truly got the “winter”{ness} of it all… Coldest it’s been in TN for a very long time… but they were “prepared”! and said it wasn’t bad….

Saturday morning I was out early, headed downtown for some photo time… It was a  fun day and I found some spots that I love…

I popped into Yazoo, all this driving around and shooting was making me thirsty…. and struck up a conversion with Dallas, who had a Canon 5d hanging off his shoulder… Turns out he is also a photographer and our brief talk about all things photography was the cherry on the cake of my photography day!! He asked if I would mind taking a couple shots of his group of friends, who were celebrating with a friend that will be getting married in a few weeks.. I was more than happy to photograph these amazing guys…. (click “Dallas” to check out his work!)

it’s cold outside!

The weather just doesn’t get this cold here… on our way home from a gathering with friends last night, I snapped this photo outside the grocery store, while Calvin and Jim ran in to get a few items… (Kodak, point and shoot)

I haven’t forgotten my blog… I am working on a couple projects right now that I hope will be ready early February…

This morning I had an errand to run with a friend and when I got back and let Ty out (our sweet beagle) I had this remarkable idea to run around the backyard with him. He was looking so cute and wanted to run, so off I went egging him on to dart around like he does… and then… just in a split second he cuts me off… funny how things “seem” to be in slow motion when in actuality there aren’t! I was falling, but not just your average down on the knees type of fall, but stretched out like a dive type of fall! and in my brain, in that slow motion that isn’t slow at all, I was thinking, yep this is going to happen, THUD! So since I had been OPENED up TWICE for surgery in Aug. I’m thinking this could end quite badly! OK, so no more drama, I’m sore but FINE.. Thank you Jesus!   SO… back to my project I’m working on… I run across this photo of Ty (not part of the project) from 2007 in my files and it just fit the whole morning…. Don’t you think? I think…. In this photo I wonder if he didn’t plan the whole thing… HA ha, got ya… Maybe now you’ll let me sleep in your precious yellow chair in the den…

with a little help from a friend… I recruited my sweet friend Kristy’s youngest, to help me with a little photo project I’m putting together… these portraits were shot New Years Eve on their property… I just love what a good HAT can do for a photo… Miss H doesn’t need much direction and we just had FUN… it was chilly but that didn’t seem to matter… you see? sessions in the winter can be wonderful! Happy 2009 to all…
