weekend trips

This past weekend, Calvin and I joined Jim on a trip to Robbins AFB in GA. While there we toured the Aviation Museum. It is the 2nd largest in the US with 100’s of restorations. Seeing all the advances in aviation used for the military was fascinating.

The weekend before last Jim and Calvin traveled to Charleston SC. with the Boy Scout Troop where they stayed on the U.S.S. Yorktown, a WW11 Battleship. They also toured Fort Sumter. We are so thankful for these amazing opportunities. They both had a wonderful time.  Jim located a photo of the battleship his Dad served on in WW11… All good stuff!

Happy Monday… Hope your week is off to a marvelous start…. Cheers!

when sarcasm works

for me anyways!   here is an example… Jim came to me a while back and said, “I like the dirty work shirt collection you have going in the closet, but when are you planning on taking them to the dry cleaners?”

I could laugh at this and gather up the “collection” and take them straight away to be cleaned!  He knows what works too! :)

as our son would say, “random Mom”…. And I guess this little post is…

***** Business note*****

Sat. from 12-2:00 p.m. There will be an art event at the Providence Community Pool area. Artist from our area will be preforming and displaying art. The Art Guild has just a few artist attending and displaying a few pieces of work. I will be there… :)

All for now…

the best part

about hosting a dinner are the friends….

this could have been a much better photo of me… that’s why I like being “behind the camera”…

that’s right boys, SMILE!

our beagle Ty’s best part was helping with grilling the ribs, and later giving everyone a jolt when he would randomly go on a barking jag when it was dark…

Friday night we had a group of our wonderful friends over for a BBQ.  I had planned and looked forward to this evening often while I was stuck inside the house recovering from my surgeries. We couldn’t have asked for better weather. Such a beautiful night. Such beautiful friends! We are so blessed…

I only wish I could have gotten photos of everyone who attended. Before you go asking “What kind of photographer is that?”, it got dark before some friends arrived! :)

random(ness) post

This past Thursday Calvin and I were invited to join our pals for a swim at a family members pool of Miss Kristy’s. Calvin and Hannah had a “fall break” (that Thursday only) from their writing/lit. classes so we took advantage of the gorgeous weather and spent the day outside. While swimming the young miss “H” found this frog in the pool drain tank and set it free after I asked for a quick photo…

well here are a couple photos of my new hair style… even though #2 had the most votes from my little poll, I went with hair style #1 (Jim and my sister both said they voted for #1 so I went with that!) Calvin took these photos of me. I thought I’d regret going short but I’m loving the change and haven’t looked back!

spent a little time last Sat. capturing a few photos, while I was out for a little location hunting, at Olivet cemetery….

This afternoon Kristy and I took Calvin and Hannah and viewed the touring copy of the Declaration of Indepence at the main library downtown. Copies like this one were printed (without the signatures) and taken to the colonies to inform the citizens. This copy was hidden behind a painting a man bought at a yard sale for $4 dollars. He noticed a tear in the painting (or print) and took the frame apart and found this folded up behind it! His $4 investment turned into over a million dollar return at auction where he sold it!!!

This ends my post of blog material from the last week and a half.  Thanks for stopping in….
