Archive for August, 2008
I have gone back and forth about writing the content of this particular post. Wondering how or if I should write it at all. Then I began to think about what a “blog” is about anyways and decided I would journal about the latest events I am facing. Without sounding to dramatic, and getting right to the point, I am scheduled for a complete hysterectomy Aug. 6th. I will be staying in the hospital four days.
I have several photos to share that show some of the preparations I have taken getting ready for the surgery, which I found out about 2 weeks ago…
One of the first things arranged in preparation for my surgery where my Mom and sister flying out to be with us. Mom arrived from Phx. yesterday and my sister and her son will be flying out Aug. 9th, the day I am released from the hospital. Having Mom and Dee Dee here means the world to me…
The next thing I did was get an appointment with my hairstylist. She was such a good sport posing with me for a photo! She is the best. And I got a pedicure, very relaxing, as the sign photo states! tranquil…
We took a week trip to GA. and stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin on a lake. We enjoyed swimming and grilling out. Family time! Just what I needed.
Calvin loves tether ball and roped his Dad into quite a few games. That ball is just too darn hard for me to enjoy that game!
Jimmy time! What I always need more of..
Calvin and I took one afternoon and shopped at IKEA for a sofa bed for the playroom. Calvin will be camping out on this the 3 weeks Grandma is here. We love our time at IKEA…
I have got Calvin’s school books and schedule all ready for 7th grade. I’ve contacted my summer clients and have got sessions moved to the fall. I’ve got my business licence and tax reports filed with the help of my accountant. I’ve cleaned and organized the van and house. I feel I’ve got just about everything checked off I needed to accomplish before I am recovering for 6 wks.
Having my to do list ready to go is a good feeling. But the true joy and encouragement I have is from the things that have been done for our family without us having to ask. The phone calls, emails, cards, meals friends have signed up for when Tricia put out an email for us, prayer lists I’ve been added to and the emails from strangers praying for me and our family, Kristy stepping in and helping with Calvin while I’m in the hospital. All these wonderful acts of love and friendship from family and friends have touched my heart in ways that will always be a blessing to my life. Tears of joy and gratitude have filled my eyes so many times these past 2 weeks. I am so thankful for the family and friends God has placed in our lives…
God is good, all the time…

Wild Sorbet … it’s a frame thing
We are back from our week in GA… (more on that soon)
One of the reasons I was so excited about getting home was that my Wild Sorbet frame order would be here!
Take a few minutes to look around their gallery and blog from the link above…
I have been thinking for sometime about offering frames to clients and when I looked into Wild Sorbet (where your imagination can run WILD with all sorts of color combinations and possibilities) I knew this was the frame company that best suits my photography style.
The company is exclusive to Professional Photographer’s and Interior Designers. All custom, all hand painted all made to order so the choices are endless and can accommodate everyone..
This is an 11×14 with a wavy trim added. I took this in our backyard on my husbands beloved apple tree…
This frame is a 10×10 wavy trimlings. Check out their blog post displays using these trimlings! LOVE these!
I will have my new frame samples displayed at the Providence Art Event, photos included. (Event date to be announced)
