she’s a beautiful girl,

she’s a beautiful girl…. that song chorus kept running over and over in my head as I was proofing these portraits.. I’ve been dying to drag out my vintage chair to a few favorite spots downtown…. this young lady was the perfect “first” for it!

I may just have to share a few more from the awesome session soon..

our boy Ty…

Ty turned 4 years old in April. Seems we have always had this guy. He is such a good dog. I wanted to get a few shots of him playing in the backyard. He loves to tear around the yard when I tell him “go boy go”, which are the ones of him in the collage… He takes defending his backyard territory very seriously. I think his expression in the bottom photo relays that! As I type this post, he is streched out on the floor of my office, as he always is, occupying me… He may grab the occasional food item off the counter when we aren’t to careful. A mini bagel with honey walnut creme cheese was his most recent score. Other than that and, well shedding fur, he is a treasure! I hope we get to celebrate many Ty birthday’s in the future…

garden

apartment…

Several weeks ago, while enjoying the morning outside, I watched two busy little birds build a nest in my rose topiary. I’ve been keeping an eye on the nest and Tuesday found this little blue egg! My little garden project has become a garden home. I’m hoping I will be able to capture photos of little baby birds next!

thanks for dropping in…

the beginning

of my perennial garden…This past Saturday, while Calvin was attending a Troop event all day, I made my way to JVI (plant nursery) in Donelson. I was so fortunate that Erin took the time to help me pick a variety of plants, including different foliage textures, colors, heights, you name it she put it altogether. And to top it all off, she even wrote it all down for me, because there would be no way I’d remember the exact placement she arranged!

here is Ty inspecting all the plants. his question was, “what’s up with the catnip!”

so here are my beds… I wanted this photo to depict the very real and sad state they are in. Jim was kind enough to down-size the original beds to a more manageable space for me to work with and replaced the mostly clay soil with much better soil, umm 2 years ago… so I am way over due to make this space FABLOUS!

here is the sketch Erin put together… I am returning to JVI next week to pick up a few more choices we made that were not in the nursery yet…

Yes, they are in the garage until after the Easter weekend… By then the weather should be warm enough for my babies…  I can’t tell you how much joy I get from this table of plants! It’s going to be a great growing season…. I’m sure I’ll blog some updates..

I can’t believe it’s almost been 2 weeks since our beach trip to FL. and I haven’t blog any photos yet… Hopefully after Easter I’ll get some processed and blogged….

I will be away from my email the rest of the week, returning Monday…

Happy Easter to all…

rare self portrait

me… taken by him

the supporter of all my endeavors, my best friend and husband of 21 years…

as I often do, I wrangled our little family off on a photo shooting adventure on a trip to GA. What I DON’T often do, I requested a few to be taken specify of me… and even less often I’m posting it…

I couldn’t watch Jim, working the camera, and not get one of these. Love it…

Business note | Looks like our weather on it’s way to beautiful spring time! I am starting to get session date requests! If you have a date in mind for a photo session, please contact me as soon as possible to see if it is available…

thanks for stopping by….
